Surge

"Surge," an online exhibition co-organized by free103point9: transmission arts and Rhizome, presented six projects that exemplify the diversity of contemporary 'transmission art' online. Whether metaphorically considering the 'communication' of disease and the subjectivity of aether, or mapping the space of one-to-many speech, each of the six works selected from an open call offered historically and culturally informed takes on transmission. Abe Linkoln and Marisa Olson, Angel Nevarez and Alex Rivera, 31 Down, the New York Society for Acoustic Ecology (NYSAE), Jim Punk, and Leslie Sharpe were included.
