Torsten Zenas Burns and Darrin Martin

Burns and Martin began their collaborations in the video and sculpture programs at the School of Art and Design at Alfred University. Together, Burns and Martin have based their single channel videotapes and current sculptural works on their research into diverse speculative fictions and re-imagined educational practices. Burns creates videotapes, photographs, and installations exploring fictions that include zombie and afterlife relationships, experimental space programs, fictional medical practices, physical and psychic slapstick. Martin creates sculpture, print, performance and video works that examine various relationships the body has to urban architectures, landscapes, interactive technologies, and physiological and psychological testing procedures.

Burns was born in 1968. He received his B.F.A. from the School of Art & Design at Alfred University and an M.F.A. in video and performance from the San Francisco Art Institute.
