Electronic Arts Intermix is thrilled to celebrate the release of Martha Schwendener's new book, The Society of the Screen: Vilém Flusser's Radical Prescience (MIT Press).
EAI's Executive Director Rebecca Cleman will join Schwendener in dialogue on Flusser's interest in video, and the relationship between his media theory and early video and broadcasting cultures between NYC, Europe, and Brazil. The evening will include a short screening of works by the Czech philosopher Fred Forest, Flusser’s friend and collaborator.
Electronic Arts Intermix (EAI)’s venue is located at 264 Canal Street, 3W, near several Canal Street subway stations. Our floor is accessible by elevator (63" × 60" car, 31" door) and stairway. Due to the age and other characteristics of the building, our bathrooms are not ADA-accessible, though several such bathrooms are located nearby. If you have questions about access, please contact cstrange@eai.org in advance of the event.
