Description

Rocks and tides create an array of waterflow patterns. These flow patterns form "chreods," a word meaning "necessary paths." This numbered series of twenty-one video renderings of "necessary water paths" along the coast of Maine was produced from 2003-2005. The artist sees these chreods as "notes" scored by nature that can be rendered in video using his Earthscore Notation System.
